  I come here often as it is so close by. In my opinion the produce here is better quality than what I will often find at the farmers market. The prices are good and often lower than other grocery stores. I was very happy with the salmon I have purchased here. It's a fairly small store but they still have a variety of things. Lots of different herbal teas as well.

  This is market is owned and operated by a Vietnamese couple. It is named after a popular market in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). I note this because a negative reviewer called it a Chinese market. Not even close. I see some very negative reviews and comments about Ben Thanh that are completely unjustified, in my opinion. The produce and fruit are high quality. I can buy two bags full of oranges, apples, lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes, maybe some spring rolls and a cantaloupe, for between $10 and $15. This is my go to place for fish sauce, rice and soy sauce. The prices are excellent. Lots of Vietnamese people shop here, which is a huge endorsement. There is a big selection of fish, and live crabs too. Ben Thanh is a great addition to the ethnic food offerings in Downtown Kitchener.

  not bad overall but definitely a bad floor layout that causes traffic jams. I've only had several strange experiences there but whatever. First, i didn't see the notice saying bananas are sold by the bunch. I was on foot and often stop into stores to get a drink and a banana. I put the 1 banana on the counter and the guy said i coudln't buy it and set it aside. So instead of selling 1 banana to me that day, they sold none. Interesting business policy. The other bad was getting pieces of a stiff plastic wrapper in the ground hamburger not once but twice. It wasn't saran wrap, it was the thickness of the heavy plastic in the ring holders that come with 6 packs of pop. I will go back but I won't be leaving with any ground meats or single bananas.
